Poem Accepted for 1st Issue of SLIVER OF STONE Magazine

A new bi-annual, online literary magazine Sliver of Stone, founded by M.J. Fievre, is launching August 1, 2010.  I just found out from the founding editor my poem "Choosing" will be included in the first issue.  The magazine promises to be "dedicated to the publication of work from both emerging and established poets, writers, and visual artists from all parts of the globe," and "publish work that is surprising and inventive."

Looking at their new website, http://www.sliverofstone.com/, and checking out the masthead I see Ms. Fievre is the author of several books in French, both mystery novels and children books, and has has her poetry and short stories published in P'an Ku and The Mom Egg.   One of the 3 poetry editors, Marina Pruna, is a native of Patagonia, Argentina and has work coming out in Flatmancrooked’s Slim Anthology of Contemporary Poetics 2010. The other editors include: Corey Ginsberg, non-fiction editor; Fabienne S. Josaphat, fiction editor; Laura Richardson, poetry editor; Patricia Warman, poetry editor; and Holly Mayes, art editor. Abigail Sedaris is the webmaster. Most of masthead seems to be affiliated in some way with Florida International University's Creative Writing program, either having graduated from or currently enrolled in the MFA program.

I am thrilled to be included in their new venture and looking forward to the inaugural issue of Sliver of  Stone.  (I just love that name.  By coincidence, my poem references a chunk of green slate.)
