 I've just received my beautiful azure blue copy of MÖBIUS,The Poetry Magazine, 28th Anniversary Issue and delighted to be included with several friends: Austin Alexis, John J. Trause, Gil Fagiani, Margery Hauser, Erica Mapp, Jim Pignetti, Thad Rutkowski, Mary Orovan, Laura Boss, Patricia Carragon and of course editors Juanita Torrence-Thompson, Dominick Arbolay, and Diana Festa,  amoung the luminaries: Rita Dove, Nikki Giovanni, Sonia Sanchez, Lyn Lifshin, Daniella Gioseffi and Hal Sirowitz.


By coincidence this fall I've been rereading several collections by Nikki Giovanni & Rita Dove but only recently discovered the work of Ms. Sanchez.   I was totally charmed by Ms. Giovanni's Bicycles: Love Poems and intrigued with Ms. Dove's contemporary application of Persephone myth in Mother Love.  I highly recommend you get your hands on copies of each title to keep you company this winter.

the one muddy rivers sing
as you skip across their stones

darning needles hum along
the sun dances on your back

wind chimes play your song
goldfinch twitter rambles on
su-weet, su-weet, so sweetly!

wind chimes play your song
ring ring Canterbury bells!
harken bumble bees to dine!
